Explore emotions and responses to current events and racial suffering in a safe environment utilizing an art exercise and an adapted format of the Healing Circle.
Healing Circles help us step out of ordinary time into a safe and accepting environment in which to explore our healing. We treat each other with kindness and respect. We listen with compassion and curiosity. We honor each other’s unique ways to healing and don’t presume to advise or fix or try to save each other. We trust each of us has the guidance we need within us, and we rely on the power of silence to access it. We practice: Listening with attention. Speaking with intention, and tending to the well-being of the circle. These agreements are adapted from Healing Circles Global .
No art experience is necessary. You can use any materials or writing/art supplies you have available, and any medium you choose. Participants have created poetry, music, watercolors, collage, paper and pen drawing, digital art, dance, etc.
A Zoom link will be sent the morning of the Healing Art Circle to those who have registered.
