At this ONLINE celebration via Zoom we will be screening the film “Mighty Times: The Children’s March”. The film tells the story of how the young people of Birmingham, Alabama, braved fire hoses and police dogs in 1963 and brought segregation to its knees. Their heroism complements discussions about the ability of today’s young people to be catalysts for positive social change.
It was directed by Robert Houston and produced by Robert Hudson. In 2005, the film won an Oscar at the 77th Academy Awards for Documentary Short Subject. The film was co-produced by the Southern Poverty Law Center and HBO.
A facilitated dialogue will follow the screening.
Free and open to the public with donations encouraged. To donate to the Center for the Healing of Racism click here.
